This course is ideal for qualified staff who already have a basic understanding of wounds and things such as pressure sores and require further training in their practical management
The guiding principles of wound care have always been focused around defining the wound, identifying any associated factors that may influence the healing process, then selecting the appropriate wound dressing or treatment device to meet the aim and aid the healing process in the best way possible.
The course aims to address the learning needs of healthcare professionals caring for patients who either have or are at risk of developing wounds by providing opportunities for the Practitioners to develop their theoretical knowledge in order to best meet the needs of their patients and the service.

You’ll learn more about assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating the specialist care of patients in the prevention of or undergoing treatment for a variety of wounds. We’ll also enable you to develop higher levels of understanding and decision making with appraisal of evidence based practice and clinicalguidelines are a strong theme throughout the course.
